My Approach to Criminal Defense

I used to think this was a term lawyers used to describe themselves for "fluff". I know now that Trial Law is a whole lifestyle. I love to fight it out, having tried numerous, very serious, homicide trials against some of the more experienced prosecutors around, with excellent results. I've tried several high profile cases, some of which were simply not "winnable". I believe deeply in Due Process for the Criminally Accused, and promise only one thing...."They got a fight coming!" These rights are yours no matter your exposure or culpability, and you need somebody who pop back at the system.  

I am particularly skilled in negotiating favorable settlements for my clients. While I enjoy a dog fight in a jury trial., I understand when fostering a workable and cordial relationship with prosecutors is key, and often times the best interests of my clients is better served by achieving the best result through settlement. There are just simply times when the juice ain't worth the squeeze, and I will be straightforward and honest with you about that.  

Your life, and the circumstances of it, are central to your case. I will review your case considering all angles, including employment, family, criminal history and cases or sentences pending in multiple venues. There are often times when someone needs substance or mental health treatment rather sitting in the jailhouse. Likewise, there are times when a client is better served by "laying it down" with the most favorable terms that can be negotiated. I promise to be honest about that. 

I am known for aggressive defense. I enjoy getting down in the proverbial mud to fight. Quite honestly, cross-examination is one my favorite things in the world. When the circumstances call dictate a hearing, "swear 'em in" is my favorite time of the day. I enjoy the courtroom and have been known for injecting everything from humor to downright nastiness into hearings. Trial law requires multiple approaches.
